About
Directory Scanner is the FREE Directory Server fingerprinting tool. It can help you to remotely detect the type of Directory servers (such as Microsoft Active Directory, Novell eDirectory etc) running on the local network as well as Internet.

In addition to this, it can greatly help administrators to remotely keep tab on Directory Servers running in their network. At a time you can use it to scan  single or multiple systems in the network.

Installation & Uninstallation
It comes with simple Instaler that helps you to install it locally on your system for regular usage. It has intuitive setup wizard which guides you through series of steps in completion of installation.
At any point of time, you can uninstall the product using the Uninstaller located at following location (by default)
[Windows 32 bit]
C:\Program Files\SecurityXploded\DirectoryScanner

[Windows 64 bit]
C:\Program Files (x86)\SecurityXploded\DirectoryScanner
 
 
Using Directory Scanner
Directory Scanner is GUI application which comes with simple interface and makes it easy to use even for beginners.

Here are simple steps

  • Launch DirectoryScanner on your system after installation.
  • Select single or network to scan for single or multiple systems.
  • Enter the start & end IP address of host. Note that only 'class C' network range is supported.
  • Next click on 'Start Scan' button to being the directory scanning operation.
  • It will scan and display the status as well as results in the list box as shown in the screenshot below.
  • At the end, you can save scan report to HTML/XML/Text/CSV file by clicking on 'Report' button and then select the type of file from the drop down box of 'Save File Dialog'.
